Al2O3 S Wafers for Research and Production

Use Al2O3 Substrates as Carriers

A Back End Lab Manager requested the following quote:

I am looking for approximately 5 150 mm sapphire wafers with a thickness of approximately 650 microns in thickness.  Single sided polish. We are using the wafers as carriers for our dry etch process.  The wafers need to 150 mm with a major flat.  Thickness needs to be around 650 microns and the surface finish can be as ground or polished.  In regards to bow we just need something that is relatively flat so we can pull a vacuum on it.

Al2O3 for CNT Growth

A university tenured professor requested the following quote:

I am looking for Fe/Al2O3/Si coated wafers for CNT growth, do you sell those? What wafer batch sizes can you do for 4in wafers with 1nm/10nm/100nm coating of Fe/Al2O3/SiO2 coated Si wafer? This is for a class.

We use them to grow single walled CNTs using a cold wall CVD furnace with ethylene as the precursor. It is for a class where we have students grow their own cnts, examine them under SEM, bounce water droplets off and measure contact angle.

What is Al2O3 Lattice Constant?

Aluminum oxide (Al2O3), also known as alumina, is a common oxide of aluminum often used in industrial applications due to its hardness and resistance to weathering. The most stable form of alumina under normal conditions is alpha-Al2O3, known as corundum, which has a hexagonal crystal structure.

The exact lattice constants of corundum (alpha-Al2O3) can vary slightly depending on the source, but typically, they are approximately:

  • a = 4.75 Å (Angstroms)
  • c = 12.99 Å (Angstroms)

Please note that this information is an approximation and the exact value might vary slightly in different studies due to factors like measurement error, sample preparation, and temperature. Always refer to specific experimental data when precision is required.

What is the Al2O3 Rocking Curve?

A rocking curve is a method used in X-ray diffraction to measure the quality of a crystal lattice. It involves rotating the crystal sample while keeping the incident X-ray beam at a fixed angle. As the sample "rocks", the X-ray beam diffracts off different planes within the crystal lattice, producing a diffraction pattern.

The intensity of the diffracted X-rays as a function of the rotation angle forms the rocking curve. The shape and width of the curve can provide important information about the crystal's quality. In an ideal single crystal, the rocking curve would be a sharp peak, while a wider curve indicates defects or a polycrystalline structure.

The rocking curve for Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) would provide information about the quality of the Al2O3 crystal lattice. However, I don't have specific information on the rocking curve for Al2O3 because it will vary depending on the specific sample, its crystal quality, and the exact experimental setup used. Generally, this information is generated and interpreted by researchers in a lab environment.
